Nockolds’ Franchise Team has recently advised the Scoffs Group on the expansion of their portfolio with the purchase of an additional ten corporate Costa Coffee stores in the Cornwall region.
Across the UK, The Scoffs Group own and operate a total of 111 Costa Coffee stores, cementing their position as Costa Coffee’s largest UK franchise partner.
Nockolds’ Head of Franchise and Corporate and Commercial Partner James Brunton led the team advising Scoffs Group and was supported by Joanna Sutton (Principal Associate, Employment) and Megan Wickens (Senior Associate, Commercial Property).
The transaction required a multi-disciplinary approach from Nockolds with the Franchise Team alongside Corporate and Commercial, Property and Employment teams heavily involved in dealing with different aspects of the transaction, working together to achieve completion for Scoffs Group Ltd.

Nockolds’ Franchise Team and Corporate and Commercial Team had previously acted for the Scoffs Group in 2019 where the Team undertook a large acquisition whereby Scoffs acquired a portfolio of Costa Coffee stores from another franchisee on the south coast.
