Government Launches Job Entry Targeted Support Scheme

The government is introducing a new employment programme to help those who have lost their jobs during the pandemic.

The Job Entry Targeted Support (JETS) Scheme is being rolled out in response to the economic crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The scheme is aimed at helping jobseekers who have been out of work for at least three months and are receiving universal credit or job-seekers allowance.

A range of help and opportunities will be offered to those seeking employment, including specialist advice on how people can move into growing sectors, as well as CV and interview coaching.

The £238 million JETS scheme comes as the furlough scheme winds down at the end of October and is aimed at curbing inevitable job losses over the coming months.
