Joanna Sutton, Principal Associate in our Employment team, has been cited in HR Magazine in relation to a disability discrimination case involving a dyspraxic worker at the University of Manchester.
The case followed a successful claim by the employee after disciplinary action was taken for misgendering a colleague. Joanna commented on the employer’s failure to properly consider how the claimant’s dyspraxia may have impacted their behaviour. She also highlighted the wider importance of employers ensuring managers are adequately trained to understand how different disabilities can manifest in workplace conduct.
