There are many occasions when the official translation of UK and US certificates will be needed in Spain.
If a British or US citizen owns assets in Spain when he or she passes away, the official translation of the UK or US death certificate together with the death certificate apostilled will be submitted to the Registro de Actos de Última Voluntad [Spanish Registry of Last Wills] to obtain the certificate which will confirm whether the deceased granted a Spanish Will. These documents will also have to be submitted to the relevant Spanish Notary, bank or Land Registry.
The official translations of the British or US marriage certificate and birth certificate (apostilled) of the beneficiaries may be needed to prove that they are relatives of the deceased.
A British or US charity can be the beneficiary of assets in Spain by virtue of a British or US Will. The Spanish notaries, land registrars and banks will need the official translations of the UK or US death certificate of the deceased and certificate of incorporation of the charity (apostilled), among others.
If a British or US company wants to open an office in Spain, the official translation of the certificate of incorporation, UK, or the official translation of the articles of incorporation, US, (both apostilled), among other documents, will have to be submitted to the Spanish authorities such as the Companies Register. Spanish banks may also require the aforesaid Certificate and the official translation when opening a company bank account.
When British or US citizens want to get married in Spain, they will have to submit their birth certificates and the British certificate of non-impediment to marriage or the US certification of no record (both apostilled) and the official translations of these documents to the relevant Spanish authorities.
If a Spanish couple have adopted a child in the UK or USA, the adoption certificate (apostilled) and the official translation of the certificate may have to be submitted to the Spanish authorities for registration.
Traducciones Juradas de Certificados del Reino Unido y Estados Unidos en España
Existen muchas ocasiones cuando serán necesarias las traducciones juradas de certificados británicos y estadounidenses.
Si un ciudadano británico o estadounidense tiene activos en España cuando fallezca, la traducción jurada del certificado de defunción, británico o estadounidense, junto con el certificado apostillado se remitirá al Registro de Actos de Última Voluntad para obtener el certificado que confirmará si el fallecido otorgó un testamento español. Estos documentos también se entregarán al notario, el banco o el registro.
Puede ser que también se necesiten las traducciones juradas del certificado de matrimonio y del certificado de nacimiento, británicos o estadounidenses, todos apostillados, de los beneficiarios para probar que son parientes del fallecido.
Una organización benéfica británica o estadounidense puede ser la beneficiaria de activos en España en virtud de un testamento británico o estadounidense. Los notarios, registradores y bancos españoles necesitarán las traducciones juradas del certificado de defunción del fallecido y delcertificado de constitución (apostillados).
Si una sociedad británica o estadounidense quiere abrir una oficina en España, la traducción jurada del certificado de constitución (apostillado) junto con el certificado se tendrá que remitir al Registro Mercantil. Puede ser que los bancos también necesiten esta documentación si la sociedad quiere abrir una cuenta en España.
Si los ciudadanos británicos o estadounidenses desean casarse en España tendrán que entregar sus certificados de nacimiento y la fe de soltería (apostillados) y sus traducciones juradas a las autoridades españolas encargadas de gestionar el expediente.
Si una pareja española ha adoptado un hijo en el Reino Unido o Estados Unidos, el certificado de adopción (apostillado) y su traducción jurada serán necesarios para la inscripción en España.
