Rebecca is an Associate in the Commercial and Property Litigation Team. Based in Bishop’s Stortford, she works with clients across both the London and Bishop’s Stortford offices.
Rebecca acts for individuals and private companies across a range of commercial and property disputes. She has experience preparing for and progressing court proceedings and, where appropriate, supports clients in resolving disputes outside court in a commercially practical way.
Rebecca trained with the firm, completing seats in Commercial Property, Commercial and Property Litigation, Corporate Commercial and Employment.
Recent experience includes:
- Assisting with taking instructions and speaking with witnesses to prepare 17 witness statements as part of a response to an application to amend restrictive covenants affecting a block of flats which ultimately resulted in a favourable judgment at the Upper Tier Tribunal.
- Successfully assisting in negotiations with four parties to a negligence claim resulting in the claim against our client being discontinued.
- Assisting with the drafting of a complex settlement agreement with reference to a legal charge, to secure the debt owed to our client, which later assisted them in the sale of their business.
- Preparing a Letter Before Claim and assisting in negotiations with a property developer on behalf of our client to agree remedial works at our client’s new-build property to remedy a defect and advising the client of the associated risks. This ultimately helped the client in reaching an agreed resolution without the need for Court proceedings.
- Assisting with the preparation for and attending a one-day mediation in relation to a large-scale property portfolio which resulted in a favourable outcome for our client.
- Assisting the Team in securing possession of properties on behalf of landlords including supporting landlords with enforcing favourable judgments.
Before joining Nockolds, Rebecca gained experience as a Paralegal in a Property Litigation department while undertaking her legal studies. She graduated from the University of Kent with a BA Honours degree in English Language and Linguistics before converting to law and went on to achieve a Distinction on the Legal Practice Course at BPP University.
