Big Problems at DVLA – Use the Online Service

The Drivers and Vehicles Licensing Agency (DVLA) are still dealing with a build-up of driving licence paper applications, with some drivers reporting that it has taken months before their application has been processed.

This delay is causing issues for many people, one of those being that people that should not be off the road, are unable to drive and helpless to do anything about it. The DVLA are currently not answering telephone queries and any emails being sent are receiving a generic reply with ‘this inbox is not being monitored’.

Our advice therefore, is to use their online service. From personal experience, I used their online service to renew my application and my licence was renewed in a couple of days. Colleagues who have done this using the postal application process have been waiting months. Do not forget that the online service is cheaper and you can also track the progress of your application online.
