Nockolds Installs Defibrillator at Bishop’s Stortford Office
Nockolds has installed a fully-automatic defibrillator (also known as an AED) in it's Bishop’s Stortford office in Market Square to assist with improving the chance of survival if an employee, visitor or a member of the public was to suffer a cardiac arrest.
A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. A person's chance of survival falls by about 10%* for each minute that passes without defibrillation. A defibrillator is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses and treats life threatening cardiac arrhythmias through the application of electrical therapy, allowing the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm. Research undertaken by St John’s Ambulance shows that a defibrillator in the workplace can improve survival by up to 60% if the casualty is treated immediately.
Darren Hayward, Managing Partner commented “We have installed an iPAD SP1 Fully-Automatic Defibrillator at our Bishop’s Stortford office to ensure that we are able to care for our employees and clients in case of emergencies. Since our offices are in a central location in the town we felt that by installing a defibrillator this would also benefit the local community as well as our staff”.
The defibrillator is available from the reception area at Nockolds’ Bishop’s Stortford office which is open between 8.30am – 6pm Monday to Friday and 9.30am – 1pm on Saturdays.
