The team at Nockolds is delighted to support Road Safety Week which begins today.
Brake, the road safety charity, founded Road Safety Week in 1997 as an annual event to raise awareness about road safety and promote steps that everyone can take to stop needless deaths and injuries on our roads all year-round.
The theme for this year’s Road Safety Week is Bike Smart and the campaign will focus on:
- Drivers being Bike Smart by driving slowly and safely and giving bike riders plenty of space;
- Policy-makers being Bike Smart by implementing a safe systems approach, prioritising cycle friendly infrastructure and mandating lifesaving technology;
- Cyclists and motorcyclists being Bike Smart through safe riding behaviours.
Road Safety Week is such an important event because it inspires thousands of schools, organisations and communities to promote life-saving messages and take action on road safety during the week and beyond.
Through our work as serious injury solicitors we have seen, far too many times, the devastating and sometimes fatal impact of road traffic accidents.
In the past, members of our team have visited local schools to provide hints and tips for road safety awareness and to encourage children to stay safe on the roads.
Moving forward, we will continue to do all we can to improve safety on our roads.
