“Panama Papers” and Divorce

Apr 12, 2016
The recent leak of 11million documents of Panama-based law firm, Mossack Fonseca, could lead to new enquiries being made in cases relating to the finances in a divorce, as it may be that these documents could indicate the existence of assets not previously disclosed.

In cases of finances in divorce, there is a duty on both sides to provide full disclosure including assets held offshore. If a settlement is reached or an order made without knowledge of those assets then it may be possible to overturn those settlements or orders.

If you would like to discuss how this could be relevant in your situation, please do not hesitate to contact us on 01279 755777. We have a team of family lawyers who have a wealth of experience in dealing with complex financial issues.
