The New National Minimum Wage Rates Including the New ‘Living Wage’

The new National Minimum Wage rates have been confirmed by the government and will take effect from 1 April 2016. For the first time this will include the so call ‘Living Wage’ which is in effect a new level of minimum wage for over 25s. The new rates are;

Age 25+ £7.20 per hour (The National Living Wage) 
21-25  £6.70 per hour
18-21 £5.30 per hour 
< 18   £3.87 per hour 
Apprentices  £3.30 per hour 

Employers will need to ensure their compliance with these new rates from 1 April 2016.
