Smoking Ban in Cars – Part One to Come Into Force

Oct 01, 2015
The first phase of banning smoking in cars is to come into force today (1 October 2015). If anyone lights up in a car with another passenger in the car who is under 18 the driver and smoker could face a fine of £50 if caught by the police.

The police are said to be taking a non-confrontational approach in enforcing it. If you have a convertible and the roof is down we understand this does not break the law. No doubt we will see in the media how the enforcement pans out.
