Addenbrooke's and Rosie Hospitals Placed in Special Measures

Sep 22, 2015
The NHS trust operating Addenbrookes Hospital and Rosie Birthing Centre has been placed on 'special measures' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The hospital in Cambridge serves patients across Hertfordshire, Essex & Cambridgeshire.

Jennie Jones, head of Nockolds' Medical Negligence and Complaints team explains that "the CQC's concerns relate to management and clinical issues which may be a shock to many in the local community who considered Addenbrookes to have a good reputation.

"We have been aware of patients concerned at staffing levels which have led to mistakes and unsatisfactory care. Complaints have been lodged with the Trust and the CQC which will prompt the Inspectorate to review a Trust in addition to the routine inspections. I sincerely hope the additional support and monitoring will improve standards at the Cambridge Hospital to protect patient safety raise staff morale"

Please contact Jennie or her team if you have concerns about an experience in hospital, and need support in making a complaint or advice on the possibility of a clinical negligence claim.
