The Telegraph reports that a man has been convicted of ‘lane hogging’, or driving in the middle lane of the motorway for an extended distance and time 

Police stopped the driver who was eventually flagged down after refusing to move to the inside lane despite heavy traffic conditions.

The sentence was five points and a hefty fine.

The offence – driving without reasonable consideration for other road users.
