Drink Driving

Playing Drinking Roulette with your Licence

May 20, 2015

The Police Federation has repeated its request for the drink drive law to be changed and to reduce the legal limit from 80mg to 50mg. This would provide consistency across most of Europe, including Scotland.

It has been reported that the number of drivers being convicted of being over the limit in Scotland has reduced since the law was changed in December last year. The ‘best advice there was none’ (ie not to drink any alcohol and then drive).

With the lower limit being introduced this advice makes sense. Otherwise you can be very soon on the wrong side of the law.
