About This Event

A Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA) appoints somebody that you trust to deal with your property and affairs. An LPA is particularly helpful if in the future you should lose your mental capacity or otherwise require assistance with finances. Making an LPA allows you to choose who you would like to help you.

Lasting Powers of Attorney also allow you to nominate a trusted family member or friend to make decisions regarding your healthcare and welfare if you are ever unable to make those decisions yourself.

This presentation will explain the different types of Powers of Attorney that are available including Lasting Powers of Attorney for Property & Affairs and Health & Welfare.

The talk will explain the circumstances in which Powers of Attorney can provide invaluable help for clients.

We will also explain the steps that can be taken for appointing deputies through the Court of Protection where no LPA’s are in place.
