Driver Conduct Hearings

We are able to provide advice, assistance and representation to drivers in order help them protect their vocational driving licence at Driver Conduct Hearings

A Driver Conduct Hearing takes place before the Traffic Commissioner and will consider a drivers’ vocational entitlement to drive on LGV/HGV & PCV Licences.

Driver Conduct Hearings examine the conduct of a driver and determine whether or not any concerns are substantiated. The Traffic Commissioner has the power to issue formal warnings, suspend a driver’s vocational licence for a specified period, or to revoke the vocational licence entirely.

There are numerous reasons as to why a driver can be called to a driver conduct hearing including:

  • Failing to stop and/or report an accident
  • Overloading
  • Recent convictions
  • Roadside prohibitions
  • Speeding
  • Tachograph and driver hours infringements
  • Using a mobile phone whilst driving

If you have received an invitation to attend a Driver Conduct Hearing, or for further information please contact our Motoring, Crime and Regulatory Team on 01279 755777.
