Pensions Auto Enrolment
Pensions auto-enrolment is with us already but as of April 2014 all businesses with fewer than 250 staff are being affected. Our Employment Team is offering a free no obligation review of your current terms and conditions provided to employees, temporary workers and Directors to help you understand and reduce the impact on your business.
The review will include consideration of your current pension arrangements, your staff contracts, how to consult with your staff over the changes and tactics for how to fund these changes. Topics might include:
Pensions auto-enrollment applies to more people than just employees. It includes all 'eligible job holders' including temporary workers and Directors. We can help identify those who are eligible job holders and therefore to whom pensions auto-enrolment applies.
The pension changes will eventually require businesses to pay a minimum 3% of qualifying earnings in to a pension scheme. Employees, temporary workers and Directors will then have to pay 4% and the staff member then receives a further 1% in tax relief. We can work with you to ensure that pay rises and changes to terms and conditions take these additional costs in to account and to try and protect your business from unexpected costs.
Consultation with Staff
All eligible job holders will need to be informed of these changes sufficiently far in advance for them to budget their own personal finances accordingly. We can help advise on how this might be done, when it should be done and help to deal with those tricky employment law questions that may arise.
