Client Testimonials

Medical negligence claims can be very complex, and often require an in-depth understanding of the medical circumstances and access to appropriate experts with experience of the legal approach.

Our team has a long standing association with organisations that have been set up to assist victims of medical negligence. We are members of the Law Society’s Clinical Negligence Panel and the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel. Members of the team also have strong links with Headway, the charity that works to improve life after brain injury, Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA), the charity for patient safety and justice, the UK Brain Injury Forum, the European Brain Injury Society and the Children’s Brain Injury Trust.

We regularly deal with Court of Protection matters, acting for clients who are unable to manage their financial affairs. A senior member of our team is a Court of Protection Professional Deputy with over twenty years’ experience.

"I have undertaken medicolegal work as a specialist intestinal surgeon for the past 30 years.  I can say without hesitation that Yasmin Ameer has been second to none as a professional co-worker. Yasmin displays a rare mixture of consummate professional and objective realism with a very solid dose of empathy with her clients. The one attribute requires the other if the claimant is to get the best out of their solicitor, and Yasmin is the epitome of this model of delivery. I have to say that if I needed a specialist medicolegal solicitor as a concerned patient I would seek out Yasmin Ameer." Professor John Northover (Consulting Surgeon, St Mark's Hospital)

“Yasmin Ameer is the most experienced, committed, compassionate and able clinical negligence lawyer I have come across in twenty years “, says one barrister.

"At ‘solid and reliable firm’ Nockolds Solicitors in Bishops Stortford, the head of clinical negligence Jennie Jones ensures ‘a high level of service, clear explanations, prompt communication and confidence’ in the department. The past year has seen the recruitment from Barr Ellison LLP of senior associate Yasmin Ameer, who combines ‘huge experience with supreme confidence and a perfect manner with even the most difficult client’. Court of Protection lawyer Ameer, who specialises in surgical and anaesthetic errors resulting in iatrogenically induced brain injury, is further described as ‘extremely responsive and compassionate, going beyond the normal call of duty’. Jones and chartered legal executive Rachel Davis also focus on brain and spinal injury work. Recent highlights include a £6.7m case concerning a toddler whose non-accidental cerebral abscess diagnosis was delayed and led to a brain injury, as well as a £3.9m case involving the dehydration of a baby during a hospital admission."
