Nockolds Solicitors was appointed the chosen providers of the Optical Consumer Complaints Service (OCCS) on 1st April 2014. The OCCS is an independent and free mediation service for consumers (patients) of optical care and the professionals providing that care. The service is funded by the General Optical Council who regulate opticians, optometrists and dispensing opticians.
Our OCCS team provide this service to resolve complaints by consumers regarding the services or products supplied by opticians (individuals* and businesses regulated by the General Optical Council). The service is independent and will help a solution be found if the consumer and optician cannot resolve the issues themselves. Our team has a vast amount of expertise in resolving both commercial and personal disputes. Coupled with our experience in operating in a regulatory framework, we are ideally placed to deliver the service. To find out more about the OCCS please visit www.opticalcomplaints.co.uk.
* This includes optometrists, dispensing opticians, student optometrists and dispensing opticians, specialty practitioners who must be registered and regulated under the Opticians Act 1989
