Nicola is a member of our Business Law Team handling all the commercial requirements of her clients such as shareholder agreements and negotiating on commercial contracts of all sizes, as well as managing transactions in selling or purchasing companies or assets.
Since qualifying as a solicitor she has gained particular expertise in advising start ups on their legal issues, as well as handling the investment of outside third parties. As many start ups are now digitally advanced, or technologically complex, Nicola is well versed with advising and improving e-commerce practices for her clients. Other areas of interest include advising franchisees on the terms of their agreements, as well as being involved with the sale of large franchise names to outside parties.
Nicola’s approach is honest and pragmatic, being firmly focused on the client’s goals from the outset and keeping the commerciality of the transaction in mind at all times for the client.
Examples of the type of work include:
- Advising and managing the investment from a market leader on behalf of a small yet successful start up for the development and production of high protein products in return for share capital
- Preparing a complex investment agreement on behalf of a small start up company who is receiving a large investment from an Amercian company
- Advising numerous franchisees on exit strategy’s and terms of an agreement before and after signing
- Being part of a team who deals with the sale and purchases of clients’ large portfolio of outlets for internationally recognised leading takeaway brands, in the region of £25million.
Nicola is also a Trustee of the OneYMCA charity in Watford and provides pro bono clinics to the WENTA group supporting start ups, based in Hertfordshire.
