The new National Minimum Wage rates have been confirmed by the government and will take effect from 1 April 2016. For the first time this will include the so call ‘Living Wage’ which is in effect a new level of minimum wage for over 25s. The new rates are;
|Age 25+ ||£7.20 per hour (The National Living Wage) |
|21-25 ||£6.70 per hour |
|18-21 ||£5.30 per hour |
|< 18 ||£3.87 per hour |
|Apprentices ||£3.30 per hour |
Employers will need to ensure their compliance with these new rates from 1 April 2016.
