Women in Business - 3 December 2015

Dec 07, 2015
Thirty Women in Business met for lunch last Thursday (3 December) in the beautiful countryside location of Essex and Hertfordshire borders at Great Hallingbury Manor Hotel. It was a fabulous opportunity to network, share stories and to enjoy a fascinating presentation given by Debbie Mockford, Director of Global Essence UK Limited, about the history of perfumery. Though fragrant upon arrival, these Women in Business left with every intention of becoming more discerning purchasers of perfume in the future.

The event was the final meeting of 2015 for the Women in Business network hosted by Nockolds Solicitors Limited. As usual, it was great to meet other women involved in so wide a variety of professions and industries, some running their own businesses, others as managers or employees. We were particularly delighted to welcome a number of new members to the group at this meeting. The network remains as vibrant and interesting as it was when it first began as a professional women’s membership group when established in 1997.

Set up to empower business women in the area and enable networking and promotion of their businesses, it has seen its membership grow over the years. It was initially set up by the highly respected Diana Smillie and, under the new leadership of Fiona Spinks, Notary Public and Associate Solicitor at Nockolds, it continues to expand.

Women In Business meets four times a year at various venues in the local area for lunch. Most of the lunches have a speaker who share their knowledge, advice and own experiences of being in business.

If you are interested in coming to one of the Women In Business events and would like to become a member, please email Jasmin Bice to receive information about upcoming events.
