Your Child’s Experience of Court

Sep 08, 2015
The government is seeking to develop and improve the court process, particularly from a child’s point of view. The Family Justice Young People’s Board (which has over 40 members) has been set up for this purpose, and they are looking for children who have experienced the court process and are interested in children’s rights and who are now between seven and 25 years old to join the Board.

Recently, the Board has worked on developing child-inclusive mediation, the government’s Voice of the Child policy, improving the way the court deals with vulnerable witnesses, and developing child friendly information about the court process.

Members over 16 will be paid, and those under 16 will receive vouchers.

The deadline for applications is 30th October 2015, and to apply please request an application pack from fjypb@cafcass.gsi.gov.uk
