Lorry-and-cyclist

Vorsprung durch technik für Radfahrer? (Advancement through technology (to assist) cyclists?)

Jun 10, 2015

It has been reported that the government is looking to try and reduce the number of cyclists being injured or being killed on our roads

Measures are being looked at to focus on HGV’s (or using the correct term LGV’s or Large Goods Vehicles).

Ministers are reported to want new lorries to have cycle friendly features to include increased visibility so cyclists can be seen easily (cabs with glass doors)

Design features could also look at the design of vehicles to protect cyclists being trapped or crushed after a collision

You only need to follow a cyclist going on the inside of a lorry to see how vulnerable one looks against the other.
