The press are reporting that the government is launching an online service so that some traffic offences can be dealt with electronically. It has been piloted in Manchester. It is anticipated that it will be rolled out nationally. So if you are summonsed for speeding you can plead guilty in the middle of the night if you want to.
Why is it being done? To save money (of course). The government has slashed budgets all around. Hence the idea will be to keep people out of court. It makes sense. We are in the digital age after all. Just make sure you do not plead guilty on your Xbox to a virtual offence whilst racing with your teenagers on the virtual superhighway.
