Alfonso Valero Aguado is the leader of the International Team and member of our Sports Law Team. Alfonso studied law at the University Complutense of Madrid, and subsequently qualified as a Spanish lawyer, or ‘Abogado’ in 2003. He has completed with success the Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Law of King’s College university of London.
He is currently completing the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) in order to qualify as an English Solicitor.
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association, Law Society of England and Wales, British Association for Sports and the Law (BASL), Spanish Sports Law Association (AEDD) and the British Spanish Law Association.
Alfonso specialises in Sports Law. He is the UK Editor of Iusport.co.uk, a leading publication in the sector and has published numerous articles about the sector. He regularly attends conferences and gives seminars about sport.
Alfonso has lived in Madrid for most of his life and lived in Dublin before coming to the UK. Passionate sports fan (he is a keen fencer himself), he also volunteers in a city farm in London. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, watching sports competitions and reading.
