Darren Hayward has been a Partner in Nockolds LLP since 2005 and heads up our Employment Team. He is also head of Marketing in the firm. Originally a History and Politics graduate from Warwick University, Darren then completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Chester, and qualified as a solicitor in 1997.
Darren has a wealth of experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment work. Having acted for both employers and employees in all areas of employment litigation Darren is able to advise on a variety of employment matters, including unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, breach of contract claims, redundancy, discrimination claims, maternity/paternity rights and other ‘family-friendly' rights, equal pay, and TUPE situations. Darren can also assist in the preparation and drafting of all employer/employee documentation including contracts of employment, Compromise Agreements, Directors Agreements as well as providing expert advice and representation in Tribunal Proceedings.
Darren has acted for a wide range of commercial clients ranging from small start-up businesses to major PLC’s as well as high net worth private clients. He is able to provide specialist advice in this area of law which is constantly subject to change.

In his spare time Darren is a keen Golfer. He enjoys traveling, reading and football, and is a devoted Blackburn Rovers F.C. supporter.
