Amanda Watts, made Partner in January 2008, joined the firm in 2001, and qualified as a solicitor in 2003 having completed her training at Nockolds LLP. She graduated from Leicester University with a degree in law, and then completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford.
Her expertise is in all general commercial property work including:
- acting for Landlord or Tenant regarding grant of leases, assignments and variations
- sale / purchase of high value residential properties
- sale / purchase of commercial sites, either for commercial use, or developments for residential use
- setting up residential sites and supervision of the plot sales team
- commercial remortgages and refinancing
- rectification of titles at HM Land Registry
Amanda is a member of the Commercial and Residential Property Committee for Hertfordshire Law Society. She is also Treasurer and key committee member of Bishop’s Stortford Young Professionals, a social networking society which has had a significant impact on young professionals within the locality.
Amanda was born in Toronto, Canada, raised in Guernsey, and relocated permanently to England upon joining the firm.
In respect of her interests, Amanda is an extremely competent horsewoman, competing regularly in dressage, show jumping and eventing. Such is her skill, she represented and captained Great Britain at University Level in dressage and show jumping, to success, in Sweden and Austria. Amanda is also a great fan of rugby, and holds a season ticket for the Leicester Tigers.
