Lecture and Speaker Experience
During the course of postgraduate studies in Sports Law, Alfonso launched Iusport.com the first free Sports Law website of the UK, www.iusport.com. As Editor he developed the contents of the website: articles, reference to books and seminars, news and interviews.
Writes various articles about Sports Law for two different publications: www.iusport.es and www.dd-el.com.
As a consequence of this, Alfonso’s contacts in the Sports Legal Industry increased substantially. Mr Juan de Dios Crespo (lawyer of Webster and of Shakhtar Donetsk in the matter of Matuzalem), gave a joint seminar with Alfonso on 4 March 2009 (http://www.sportbusinesscentre.com/news/2009-03-04) as part of the Seminar series of Birkbeck Sport Business Centre.
In April to May 2009, guest lecturer of three lectures in the ‘International Sports Law’ Module of the ‘Sport Management and the Business of Football’ Master program (2008-2009 program) of Birkbeck University of London. Subsequently, only lecturer for the courses of 2009-2010 and 2010-2011.
In June 2009, Alfonso was a speaker at the British Spanish Law Association Conference in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) talking about Sports Law in the UK.
In July 2009, Alfonso was the only European Lawyer invited to give a talk about Sports Law at the ‘Salon des Sports et Lloisirs de Cote d’Ivoire’, Conference about Sports in Ivory Coast.
In December 2009, Alfonso co-founded a new Sports Law website, www.lawinsport.com, which rapidly gained popularity and number of followers.
In May 2010, Guest Lecture in the LL.M. in the International Sports Law program of ISDE Masters talking about ‘Human Rights, Abuse of Power and Intellectual Property in Sports Law’.
In November 2010, Guest Lecture in the Sports Management Course of Nottingham Trent University talking about EU Sports Law.
