Nockolds, the leading commercial law firm, has appointed Sean Fitzgerald
as a Partner in its rapidly expanding commercial property practice in London.
Sean Fitzgerald was head of the Property Litigation Group at Stephenson Harwood, a major international law firm with nine offices across Europe and Asia, and is widely regarded as one of the leading contentious property lawyers in the UK. The appointment of Sean Fitzgerald will boost Nockolds’ capabilities in handling complex, high-value property disputes.
The appointment of Sean Fitzgerald follows the hire of Michael Shapiro from SGH Martineau and represents the second Partner-level hire to Nockolds’ commercial property team from a Top 100 commercial law firm in the last three months.
Sean Fitzgerald has over 20 years experience in all forms of property disputes, including substantial property fraud cases, contested rent reviews, contested lease renewals, licences to assign/underlet/alterations, leasehold enfranchisement, mortgage and rent enforcement, planning appeals, boundary disputes, property insolvency, judicial reviews, forfeiture of leases, and other landlord and tenant issues including insolvency. He is particularly noted as one of the UK’s leading dilapidations lawyers.
Darren Hayward, Managing Partner at Nockolds, comments: “This is an important strategic appointment for us. It adds significant Partner-level capability to our growing commercial property practice, and gives us a market-leading property litigation offering to sit alongside our existing strength in non-contentious commercial property. Sean will spend much of his time in our London office, where his experience working for large corporates on complex, high value cases will prove invaluable.”
