James, made Partner in January 2008, graduated from Keele University with a degree in law and environmental management going on to complete the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in London. James joined the firm in September 2001 and qualified as a solicitor in 2003, having completed his training at Nockolds.

James' work in the field of Property Litigation has led to consecutive recommendations in the prestigious Legal 500 and Chambers 2011 UK publication – the definitive guide to 'who's who' in the law - and is considered to be a leader in the field of property litigation winning acclaim as "a sound operator and clear communicator. Heading up the Property Litigation team James specialises in all aspects of Property and Real Estate litigation whilst retaining a strong knowledge of general commercial litigation matters.

James was born and grew up in Hertford attending a local secondary school there. James remains living in Hertford, retaining his local knowledge and strong links with the area. In his leisure time James is a keen board sports enthusiast actively pursuing wakeboarding and snowboarding. In addition James is a keen camera operator and assists a local based digital production company in filming extreme sports programmes for the likes of Extreme Sports, Skysports and Channel 5. James also spends time working with a locally based charity project in organising sports events integrating the participants of the project into the local community.
