Clive Wadham-Smith joined the firm in October 2006, having qualified as a solicitor in 1978. Since qualifying, he has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in company/commercial law and commercial property.
Clive was born in North London, but then moved to the south coast and has lived in Bury St Edmunds since 1990.
His expertise is in general commercial work, with particular emphasis on company work that involves an element of commercial property. He has a particular interest in waste management issues. Clive also acts as an in house adviser to a substantial business in the aviation industry and is on the board of a Development Trust.
Clive has a wealth of experience in the corporate and commercial issues involved in charity work. He is a Director / Trustee of a large charitable Development Trust, Company Secretary of a charity incorporated as a company working in the field of transport for special needs children and is also a Director and Secretary of a Community Interest Company specialising in recycling. He is retained to advise all of them on legal and commercial issues separately to his role as a Director / Trustee. In his legal practice with Nockolds he regularly advises on the formation of new charities and on the legalities and requirements of charities and their trustees.
Clive is a member of the Institute of Directors and dedicates much of his free time to his local community and actively participates in the Community Council and village hall management. He is a keen aviator, and until recently held a private pilots licence. Clive also enjoys sailing and participating in sports such as squash and tennis.
