Bev is an integral member of the Employment Team.

Having joined Nockolds Solicitors in September 2010 from a firm in Hertford. Bev specialises in employment law for both employers and employees covering areas such as:

  • Compromise agreements
  • Maternity and Parental Rights
  • Equal Opportunities Policies
  • Redundancy
  • Unfair Dismissal

Originally a Biological Sciences and Education graduate, Bev was formerly Head of the Biology Department at a secondary school in Bishop’s Stortford, before studying law at the University of Hertfordshire, where she graduated with a first class honours degree.

In her spare time Bev enjoys attending concerts, swimming and socialising with friends.

The Employment team are expertly placed to advise both individuals and businesses in all matters associated with Employment Law. Working across the whole firm the Team are able to support businesses and individuals throughout their life cycles, drawing on support from teams such as International and Company Commercial according to client needs.

The focus of the Team is to work closely with clients on preventative steps avoiding the need for costly legal action. In the instance that legal action is required we aim to resolve legal matters quickly and efficiently for the benefit of the client.

    With the threat of teachers strikes looming many parents will be concerned about how to manage childcare if their children’s school is closed.
    Many parents will request a day’s holiday to ‘solve the problem’, however although an employee is entitled to statutory holiday entitlement there is no entitlement for an employee to take holiday as and when he or she wishes and an employer can refuse requests for a holiday.

    Following the Governments review of Employment Legislation, Vince Cable outlined a ‘package of measures’ which could lead to radical changes in Employment Law in an attempt to reduce the number of Employment Tribunal Claims which has risen 44% since 2008-2009.
