Alex studied law at Sidney Sussex College Cambridge and completed his training contract at Dechert LLP in the City. He undertakes all types of civil and commercial litigation and has particular knowledge of property litigation.
Alex has gained experience of business lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, dilapidations claims, claims for breach of covenant (non-payment of rent, assignment/underletting without permission, breach of the tenant's user clause) and real property disputes relating to rights of way and restrictive covenants. He has undertaken work in the County and High courts for a wide variety of clients from institutional property investors to private landlords and tenants. When dealing with each case, he combines a solid legal approach with a pragmatic outlook aimed at achieving the best settlement. He is a member of the Property Litigation Association and has contributed articles to the RICS website.
In the sphere of commercial litigation, he deals with claims relating to breach of contract, warranty claims arising from business sale and claims involving breaches of trust.
