Daniel is a Partner and the Head of Commercial and Property Litigation Team. Having graduated from Cardiff University in 2000 with a degree in law before studying for his professional qualifications at the College of Law, Guildford, Daniel spent his early career practising Commercial and Property Litigation in a large and well respected south-coast commercial law firm. Daniel then moved to Hertfordshire and later joined the firm.

Daniel specialises in advising and representing clients in probate, inheritance, and trust disputes. He is comfortable and familiar with handling complex and high value cases, and has particular experience and expertise in cases involving vulnerable individuals and financial abuse. Daniel is a Registered Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialist and a full member of ACTAPS, the recognised body within the legal profession for lawyers specialising in disputes concerning Wills, inheritance, probate and trusts, and has a wealth of experience in this field of law.

Daniel was recommended in The Legal 500 as having ‘a solid reputation in the area’ and ‘obtains excellent results for clients across a range of trusts, probate and Court of Protection matters’ (2017 edition) and as ‘an extremely good, energetic lawyer’ with more than 13 years’ experience acting for high-net-worth individuals on a range of trusts and probate disputes’ (2018 edition).

Throughout his career, Daniel has also represented and advised commercial clients on contractual disputes, company disputes, shareholder litigation, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings. In addition, Daniel regularly advises on all aspects of commercial property disputes including forfeiture proceedings, possession claims, trespassers, rent and service charge disputes, and guarantee claims.

A further area of law in which Daniel is heavily involved is that of NHS continuing healthcare and funding. Daniel has helped protect vulnerable individuals and advise families with regard to issues relating to the provision of care, often in emergency situations, and also resolve disputes regarding the funding of care. Over the course of his career, Daniel has helped clients obtain the correct care that they need, in locations and facilities that meet their needs, and recover thousands of pounds in nursing home fees, and save many more thousands in respect of ongoing and future care costs.
